We just purchased the home and moved in at the end of June. The basement overall is in decent shape for the age of the house, however, there are two crawlspaces under the living area of the house that has a dirt base. Even though there is a sump-pump and a dehumidifier there is a noticeable smell that I believe comes from the exposed dirt floor in the crawl spaces. I would like to know what options exist to correct this and reduce moisture as much as possible. Thank you.

Basement flooded with recent heavy rains. Sump pump could not keep up. We pulled up all of the luxury vinyl plank (which had been installed last year). We have fans and dehumidifier going. Not sure what all we need, but we think we need to dry out, perhaps internal french drain, waterproofing, and updated sump pump.
